what were the conditions like for jews living in poland during world war 2?
keep it simple, im 11 i need some facts for homework :) what happened to the people that didnt go to the concentration camps? btw thanks for the answers :)

Awful. They were rounded up, put in concentration camps and practically wiped out in the final solution in 1942. Even while they were still in ghettos, life was miserable. A nonjewish Pole got half as much food as a german. A jew got half as much as a pole.

Yeah basically everything Tim D said and they were put in a huge Ghetto (like a Nazi-run town) before they were shipped off in trains to the concentration camps. Most of the weaker Jews were killed as soon as they arrived by shooting or gas chambers. If you want to know more, read Milkweed by Jerry Spinelli. It's a very good book for someone your age.
