i want to move to poland for awhile and was wondering, if i dont work, do i still have to get a visa? like if i love there for just like a year just to see the country and what not, all i will need is my passport right?

If you are a US citizen, you can stay up to 6 months without a visa, if you plan on staying for a year, I suggest you call the Polish embassy and ask them to send you information on programs for students, professionals or for whatever qualifications you have.
